Why?

DualDocker is highly damped and absorbes the dynamic forces from wind and waves.

Example:

A strong gust of wind suddenly hits the floating object with full force.

The energy of the gust of wind is absorbed by the high damping.

The floating structure lies still in the water again after a few seconds.

If this floating structure is attached with a rigid mooring system, then the gust of wind will cause higher holding forces and a strong, longer-lasting rocking motion.

After a few seconds, the next strong gust of wind may arrive. The floating object then rocks more and more.

The floating village in Nacka, Sweden keeps growing further!

Fully equipped, large floating homes up to 300 tons are moored with the TriDocker-system of DualDocker for utmost comfort and safety.

The customer is convinced of DualDocker. We delivered another system to Nacka for him just a month ago and the next are already planned for the end of the year.

“The mooring system DualDocker was our first choice and we are very happy with it. We have had some storms recently and we were amazed how stable our new home lies in the water. The total lack of jerking (which I have experienced a lot in other, conventionally moored floating houses) contributes a great deal to our high standard of living and comfort here.

Floating Houses in Bitterfeld

Floating Houses at Lake Goitschesee

This floating home project on lake Goitschesee in Germany is one of our flagship projects developed in corporation with Floating House Germany.

Ten 150t large floating homes and nine 15t houseboats have been moored now for several years on a fixed jetty with DualDocker. Without a breakwater and fully exposed to the open lake!

The big challenge at the location is the enormous fetch of 5 km across the lake from the east that creates serious wave action. Thanks to the “jerk-free and highly damped” DualDocker technology those homes are comfortable and save even at harsh conditions without build-up of any dynamic forces caused by wind and waves.

80 m Yacht

80 m Yacht

This time we present another innovative customer request to you.
A floating pontoon for a 80 m yacht is to be built parallel to the quaywall.

The conditions on site are very challenging:

Mooring Speed 0,3 knots (600t)
Max. Wind Speed- 40 m/s
Max. Current- 2,0 m/s
Max. Water Level Difference – 1 m
Max. Wave Height – 2 m
No Breakwater!

We worked out the above solution with the customer.

10 DualDocker (200 kN model) with a length of 6,5 m and extremely high damping way (500mm in Push-Direction, 300mm in Pull-Direction).

Conclusion

DualDocker is a jerkfree mooring system. This means that no additional (very high) dynamic forces are generated!

The floating dock and the mega yacht are almost motionless and calm in the wind and waves.

The highly damped DualDocker absorb the kinetic energy of the yacht and thereby reduce the retention forces by up to 90%!
