THE IDEA OF THE DUALDOCKER

The idea of the DualDocker was born during a sailing trip in June 2007.The night was stormy in the small harbour on the Turkish coast. Our 50' yacht was secured with two diagonal stern lines and a bow anchor. The wind was constantly changing direction and gusts of around 35 knots were rattling the yacht. Is the anchor line strong enough? Sleeping was out of question, the skipper ordered 'anchor watch'. During that night, the passionate hobby sailor Michael Fuhrmann was brooding over the idea of the DualDocker.

During the months that followed that night, plans were drawn, prototypes produced, tests carried out and improvements made resulting in the DualDocker as we now know it - an excellent product.

The DualDocker is THE new, innovative docking system for motor & sailing yachts.

NO MOORINGS - NO BOW ANCHORS - NO PILES - NO FINGERS

The DualDocker system basically consists of two strong arms, which are holding the yacht in place thereby sensitively absorbing energy created by wind and waves. We have achieved our primary goal - to improve 'safety and convenience' considerably.

The technical idea behind it
The DualDocker was constructed, tested and refined based on the laws of physics.

1.) The stability of the prism
The DualDocker and the yacht form a stable prism. Beam forces are reduced to a minimum.

2.) Avoiding kinetic energy
The DualDocker avoids kinetic energy from the start. When the yacht is exposed to strong winds and therefore jerks between ropes, the cleats are exposed to high forces. With the DualDocker the yacht lies calm and safe on the water, even in high wind forces.
