HARBOUR DESIGN

No matter if you are planning a new marina or a marina extension, the DualDocker will create a completely different image: NO MOORINGS - NO BOW ANCHORS - NO PILES - NO FINGERS

1.) Arrangement of arms

Arm 'fix' and arm 'rotation & bolted':
The arm 'fix' is bolted into the harbour adapter with four M16 V4A bolts. Angle positioning between -20° and + 20° is possible (1° or 5° steps)
The arm 'rotation & clamping' is clamped in the middle with one M16 bolt. This arm can rotate freely ± 20° and therefore suits yachts with differents widths. If required (e.g. for the owner's yacht) the arm can also be bolted down.

2.) Prism-angle
a) Ideal angle for highest level of convenience in the marina
The ideal angle redirects all beam forces. The shock absorbers take up the energy created by wind & waves
The ideal angel is usually approx. 10° / arm
Advantage: The yacht lies almost motionless and calm in the wind.
Disadvantage: Consumption of space. The distance to the neighbouring yachts is approx. 0,8 m.

b) Parallel arms for economical use of space
A smaller prism angle or even paralles arm do not fully redirect forces anymore.
The arms must therefore take up the energy.
The arms are very tough and bolted in without play.
In case of higher beam forces, diagonal stern lines must be attached.
Advantage: Economical use of space due to the smaller prism-angle. The distance between yachts is approx. 0,3m (fender width)
Disadvantage: With wind reaching 25 knots or more, diagonal stern lines need to be attached.

3.) Marina planning
a) Upgrading existing piers
If you would like to upgrade an existing pier/walkway with DualDockers, the following chart suggests different configurations.

Yacht size

Distance 'B'

Distance 'A'

Yacht width

Distance stern cleats

Small

3,5 m

3,2 m

up to 3,2 m

1,9 m to 2,9 m

Medium

4,0 m

3,7 m

up to 3,7 m

2,4 m to 3,4 m

Large

4,5 m

4,2 m

up to 4,2 m

2,9 m to 3,9 m

XL

5,0 m

4,7 m

up to 4,7 m

3,4 m to 4,4 m

XXL

5,5 m

5,2 m

up to 5,2 m

3,9 m to 4,9 m

The prism-angle can be adjusted individually on each place.

10° - Convenience: The 'fix' arm is adjusted and bolted at 10°.
The rotating arm adjusts itself to suit the yacht (0° - 20°)

5° - Compromise: The 'fix' arm is adjusted and bolted at 5°
The rotating arm adjusts itself to suit the yacht (0° - 20°)

0° - Economic: The 'fix' arm is adjsted and bolted a 0%
The rotating arm adjusts itself to suit the yacht (0° - 20°)

Changing of prism-angle:
The prism-angle of the 'fixed' arm can be adjusted quickly.
- Lift cover
- Undo 3 bolts
- Turn arm to required position
- Tighten 3 bolts
- Put down cover
Duration: A few minutes

b) Marina extensions / Planning a new marina
If you are in the process of planning a marina extension or a new marina altogether, the DualDocker can help to optimize space and create a completely new, different image: NO MOORINGS, NO BOW ANCHORS, NO PILES, NO FINGERS, REDUCED IMPACT INTO THE UNDERWATER WORLD !

The new, forever flexible DualDocker pier: An embedded track or groove in the walkway (either top or side!) allow for a row of DualDockers - easy to install, easy to move, easy to adjust - for utmost flexibility with low initial investment costs.
